IIR Featured in Spring 2021 Horizon Newzine

The Institute for Immigration Research (IIR) is featured in the Spring 2021 issue of Horizon Newzine, published by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS).

The article describes how the IIR was launched in 2012 with the generous donation of Diane Portnoy, the founder and CEO of The Immigrant Learning Center Inc. (ILC) in Malden, Massachusetts. Portnoy arrived in the United States as a toddler and has a strong commitment to adult education, teaching English, and correcting misinformation about the contributions of immigrants. The IIR partners with The ILC to inject factual information about immigrants and their contributions into the national conversation.

The article describes the IIR's work, including our Immigration Data on Demand (iDod) service which provides customized data to those who request it, as well as our mission to prepare the next generation of immigration scholars.
