In their commentary piece titled “Mass deportation is unlikely. Micro-deportations are the graver concern”, Dr. Witte and Dr. Kiss highlight that while mass deportation under the new administration is unlikely, micro-deportations seem inevitable which will cause economic and social disruptions in America’s workforce and shortages of workers across industries including home health aides in the Northeast, construction workers across the country, and farm workers in California and Florida. Their piece was picked up by 30 local and regional news outlets including MSN, Miami Herald, The News & Observer, Star-Telegram, The Herald Sun, Sun Herald, and Centre Daily Times.
