Research from the IIR was cited in Newsday

In a recent Newsday article that discussed the decline in new international students at American colleges and universities, the IIR’s 2024 Nobel Laureate report was cited. In the 2024 Nobel Laurate report, the IIR highlighted the role of the U.S. academic infrastructure and higher education in attracting foreign-born researchers and academics in producing Nobel-worthy research, particularly in the post-World War II era. More specifically, the IIR noted that approximately 44% of immigrant Nobel Laureates in academic disciplines attended U.S. institutions for their highest educational degree and over 70% of international STEM Ph.D. students remain in the United States after earning their degree, making lasting contributions to academia and industry.
