IIR Colloquium Series: A Conversation with Dr. Jielu Lin from NIH

Genomics, Social Networks and Health Disparities

Wednesday, November 30, 2022 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM EST

The societal implications of genomics have always been a key topic area in medical sociology. This talk features research projects at the Social Network Methods Section of the National Human Genome Research Institute. These projects illustrate how to apply sociological imagination and sociological research methods to the understanding of social issues in translating genomic discoveries for disease prevention, health promotion and health care improvements, especially in racial/ethnic minority and immigrant populations.
