The Institute for Immigration Research (IIR) conducts interdisciplinary academic research to educate the public about the positive impact immigrants have on the country, the economy, and our communities. Producing original, theoretically driven, objective research is the basis for initiating unbiased dialogue about immigrants and immigration to the U.S. Factual data on immigration is more important than ever before due to the current political climate, the deeply divisive rhetoric surrounding immigration, and the myths and misinformation surrounding the issue. More times than not, current discourse fails to take important economic and social aspects of immigration into account. Through our work, the IIR seeks to address empty rhetoric and inject factual information into the national immigration debate.
