Mason plans Winter Graduation ceremonies

George Mason University's 2021 Winter Graduation activities will take place December 14-16, with a combination of in-person events and a Patriot Procession. Registration information for all events is coming soon.

CHSS bachelors and master's degree graduates will take part in a ceremony on December 16, at 10:00 am. The Schar School, the Carter School, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and the Antonin Scalia Law School are also invited to take part in this ceremony. Winter Graduation is a formal event, where speakers will address graduates and guests. Graduates must wear academic regalia. They will have their names called, cross the stage in EagleBank Arena, and be professionally photographed. Families and guests are invited to the ceremony and need to commit to stay for the duration of the event, approximately 1.5 hours.

Doctoral graduates from across the university are invited to a Winter Graduation ceremony on December 16, at 4:00 pm, in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall.

On December 14 and 15, the university will offer a Patriot Procession as an alternative to the Winter Graduation ceremony. The Patriot Procession requires preregistration and will feature a timed check-in and an opportunity for graduates to have their names called as they cross the stage at EagleBank Arena. There will be a professional photographer at the event and informal photo opportunities are also available on the concourse level of the arena.
