IIR Colloquium Series: A Conversation with the D.C. Divas

Join current Diva players to learn how their efforts seek to inspire and empower the next generation.

Wednesday, January 31, 2024 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST
Johnson Center, Cinema

The D.C. Divas are one of ten charter franchises in the National Women's Football Association (NWFA). The team made their full-contact football debut in the spring of 2001. But the Divas are about more than sports. Their mission “… is to level the playing field for girls and women in sports.” Over the last two decades, the Divas have won three National Championships and compiled more victories than any other franchise in the history of the sport. More importantly, they seek to have an overwhelmingly positive effect on everyone who has played for or supported the team.

As part of our Institute for Immigration Research (IIR) Colloquium, join current Diva players, including foreign-born Divas, to learn how their efforts seek to inspire and empower the next generation of girls, boys, and young adults.
