The Seattle Spartans, who were founded in 2012, are a semi-professional full-contact football team that is based in Seattle, Washington. As part of our AmeriCorps, Immigrants, Athletes, and Civic Engagement series, join current Spartans players, to learn how they not only aim to inspire and empower the next generation of girls, boys, and young adults, but help women and girls' dreams come true by bringing women's football to the mainstream. In addition to hearing from Nicole Pelham, owner of the Spartans and running back for the team, viewers will get a chance to learn from former quarterback and current head coach, Boni, offensive-line player Ines Cuevas, and internationally recognized Taekwondo athlete, Danielle Pelham.
