"Why Do The Myths that Immigration Is Bad For The Economy Endure?"

Mary Giovagnoli, Director

Immigration Policy Center

Join us on Wednesday, November 19, 1:00-2:00PM for a guest lecture featuring Mary Giovagnoli, Director of the Immigration Policy Center, the research and policy arm of the American Immigration Council.

This presentation will discuss how America has always had a love-hate relationship with the concept of immigration, often fueled by fears and misconceptions about the roles immigrants play in the economy. Mary will trace some of the top myths and the way they are used in the debate over immigration reform and how these arguments are likely to play out in the next congress.

This event will be held at the Institute for Immigration Research, 4087 University Drive, Fairfax VA, Third Floor. This event is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Hosted by The Institute for Immigration Research.
