Immigrant communities in the U.S. are key to creating networks of social and cultural understanding to help U.S. institutions provide relief in disaster torn regions of the world. The entrepreneurial skills of U.S. immigrants is of extreme benefit to the USAID mission by directing resources and services more effectively.
The Institute for Immigration Research (IIR), in collaboration with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Center for International Disaster Information (CIDI), will hold a panel discussion aimed at understanding the contribution of U.S. immigrants and specifically how they assist US institutions succeed in their missions abroad.
