Institute for Immigration Research Migration Working Group

The Institute for Immigration Research (IIR) Migration Working Group is an informal space that brings together students and faculty across levels and departments. The aim of the Migration Working Group is to provide students and faculty opportunities to workshop and receive feedback on early-stage projects and works in progress, share our migration research, and learn with one another to strengthen our research projects.

The IIR Migration Working Group meets online once a month for one hour. Each meeting includes informal project briefs and/or presentations to share and discuss emerging migration-related projects.

Join us on December 3rd when we will discuss research from:

  • Anand Panamthottam Cherian, Institute for Immigration Research Graduate Research Assistant and PhD Student, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, George Mason University: "Navigating Aspirations and Inequalities: Middle-Class Indian Students and the Global Education Landscape".
  • Oguzhan Dursun, Institute for Immigration Research Visiting Scholar and TUBITAK Fellowship Recipient: "Constructing Identities: Turkish and Greek Diasporas in the United States"
